Recently my favourite perfume, Emporio Armani She, ran out. It’s my daily wear perfume which I have worn for the past 5 or 6 years and just love it. However, when I went out in search of a new bottle I found out that this perfume is no longer being sold in Australia. This always happens to me! So, I went straight home and got onto the internet to find a bottle somewhere and of course, my favourite country to shop – the United States – came through for me again. When I used to purchase this perfume in Australia it cost me approximately $150. You can see here, I can purchase the same bottle from US online store FragranceX.com for only $66.24 AUD plus shipping costs of around US$16.00 – a grand total of $82.00, almost half what I used to pay in Australia.
To be able to complete a detailed case study I have chosen to compare a perfume which is available in Australia – in this case a 100ml bottle of Emporio Armani Acqua Di Gio perfume for women - being purchased from a store in Australia to being purchased from a US online store.
Firstly, I can find this perfume at department store Myer for AUD $145. If I were to purchase this from the Myer store the shipping would cost an additional $8.00 but seeing as I could go to an actual Myer store and purchase this product I won’t include the shipping cost this time.
I then find this same bottle of perfume at FragranceX for $71.03. I did a quick search for FragranceX coupons and the first site that comes up has a coupon for 10% discount. This literally took me 10 seconds to do. BUT, when I went to take a screenshot of the shopping cart for you, I noticed in big red writing at the top of the page they already provide a coupon code for 10% discount! Silly me.
The total for the product is now $63.93. This store has a great facility which shows you the shipping cost before having to complete check out and I can see that shipping will cost $15.41 bringing the order to a total of $79.34. This store allows you to shop in Australia currency, so this price is in Australian dollars. So, I can get the exact same bottle of perfume for under $80.00 that I would have to pay $145 for here in Australia. Hope you guys agree that this is the best way to get your perfume!
